We first vacuum-pack and double-seal your meat order. We then pack the whole order carefully within food-safe gel coolants in specially insulated liner, all within a strong, double-walled corrugated box. This keeps your order at the right temperature and secure in its journey to you. Take a look at our packaging page for more details.
Yes. The packaging we use is designed to keep the products properly chilled at under 5⁰ C for at least 72 hours in the winter and 48 hours in the summer – plenty of time for it to get to you. We just ask that if it’s being left in a safe place for you, please select somewhere in the shade.
You can reuse all of the packaging including the gel coolants, or recycle it all. The outer box is cardboard and so is easily recycled, unlike more traditional polystyrene packaging. To recycle the gel coolants, snip them at the corner and pour the benign liquid down the sink before recycling the plastic. And if you don’t want to reuse the liner, you can separate and recycle the aluminium foil and bubble wrap.
